Killer Pecan Vanilla Bean Ice Cream


  • 1 qt milk
  • 14 oz sugar
  • 1 ea vanilla bean, cut in half length wise and scrape
  • 12 ea egg yolks
  • 13 oz sour cream



  1. Bring the milk and vanilla bean to a boil.

  2. Whip the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Pour the hot milk over the eggs and mix slowly until the mixture cools.

  4. Stir in the sour cream.

  5. Freeze according to the ice cream maker’s manufacturer guidelines. Stir in 8 oz chopped Killer Pecans and place in freezer.
